Junior Software Engineer, Hasseeb, tells about party planning, gaming, and the interconnected future of fintech.
How did you come to join the mmob?
I graduated in the summer of 2021 with a BSc in Computer Science. Around this time, one of my friends told me about the work mmob do in the world of fintech, peaking my interest. With the opportunity to express myself in a field I enjoyed, I applied for a role!
What is your favourite thing about working at mmob?
Definitely the people I work with. From the moment I stepped into the office I felt welcomed, as someone who belonged. For me it made the experience and my job that bit more enjoyable. Everyone is so easy to get along with.
What does your job role entail?
As a Junior Software Engineer, my role involves working with our front-end and back-end applications. My main focus sits on the front-end, utilising the React framework. Aside from this, I’m also on the Social or “Party Planning” Committee, which I particularly enjoy contributing to.
What are you working towards at the moment?
At the moment, I’m stringing up Analytics for our CPs and TPPs, which involves creating and connecting visible metrics to a database. I’m also involved in applying our internal event capture system across our marketplace integration.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy playing video games quite a bit, I’m a big fan of FPS’ and dedicate a lot of time to games such as Call of Duty and Valorant. I have yet to find someone better than me at the office!
What do you think the future of fintech looks like?
If I could describe the future of fintech with a single word, it would be “interconnected”. Modern technology is changing the way our financial world operates. Financial services have exponentially increased the information they can exchange, thus resulting in better products for the business and consumer markets.
